Title: Intersecting D-brane models and their application to particle physics

Speaker: 冯万哲博士,Northeastern University

Abstract:

Recent progress shows that intersecting D-brane models can give rise to much richer phenomenology than people used to think. Puzzles and anomalies in particle physics can be resolved in D-brane models purely by geometrical constructions of the intersecting D-branes. In this talk, I will discuss two classes of D-brane models. One class of the models provides a scenario connecting the hidden sector physics using Stueckelberg U(1)'s. The other class offers a natural explanation of the recent LHCb flavor anomaly

About the speaker:

Dr. WanZhe Feng obtained his Ph.D. degree from Northeastern University in 2012. Since then he has worked at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, München, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and Northeastern University as either postdoctoral fellows or visiting scholars. His main research interests include new physics beyond the Standard Model, Higgs physics and collider phenomenology, Quantum gravity,Classical gravity and black hole physics.
