Abstract
Spin-Isospin and Electro-Magnetic Responses of Nuclei are studied with Charge Exchange reactions by combining the measurements of nuclear reaction and nuclear decay with the World-best High Energy-Resolution facility at RCNP at intermediate incoming energies. Detailed nuclear excitations, such as Gamow-Teller or E1 excitations are studied by best using the achieved high resolution, thus detailed nuclear structures are studied. Detailed studies from the reactions are combined and compared with those from β- and γ-decay studies using the idea of Isospin-Symmetry in nuclei. The combined study allows to deduce the structures of proton-rich exotic nuclei, that plays important roles in the Nucleosynthesis, or at the time of Supernova Explosion.
Prof. Fujita would like to give a lecture on fundamentals of charge exchange reactions, including:
1) How do we see Nuclei?
2) Nuclear Excitations & De-Excitations, and
3) Operators and Excitations (De-Excitations).
